The Roman Holiday

Ingredients

- 1/4 cup sugar for rim of glass
- 1 oz sage simple syrup (recipe below)
- 3 oz tart cherry juice
- 1/2 oz vanilla vodka
- 4 oz Mionetto Prosecco Brut

For Sage Simple Syrup*:

- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup water
- 12 sage leaves

Glassware: Old Fashioned glass

Preparation

1. To make sage simple syrup: combine sugar, water, and sage leaves in a small saucepan. Simmer until sugar dissolves. Strain into a jar and cool. Reserve sage leaves for garnish.
2. Pour sugar onto a plate. Dip rim of the glass into sage syrup, then sugar. Set aside.
3. In a shaker with ice, combine sage syrup, cherry juice, and vodka. Shake well and strain into glass. Top off with Mionetto Prosecco.
4. Garnish with reserved sage leaf.
*Simple syrup recipe makes enough for many cocktails.
